POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the Residential Services Manager; the maintenance worker shall be responsible for plumbing, electrical, access control and HVAC maintenance, perform regular preventative maintenance and respond to requests and complaints of designated areas of KCSC Residential Services Programs. Areas include kitchen, offices, restaurants, and outside building (pick up garbage, shoveling, etc.); as well as other duties requested by the Program Supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and minor repairs.
Conduct preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting of HVAC systems and building equipment.
Inspect facilities and grounds, identify maintenance needs, and prioritize repairs.
Coordinate and monitor external contractors and service providers as required.
Maintain building interiors and exteriors, including lawn care, snow removal, and general cleanliness.
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Comply with organizational policies and occupational health and safety standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Facility Operations and Maintenance Certificate or equivalent education and experience.
Minimum three years of general maintenance experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems.
WHMIS Certificate or ability to obtain.
Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate.
Valid Class 5 Driverâs License and access to a reliable vehicle.
Successful completion of CWIS and CPIC clearance checks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Ability to perform preventative maintenance and diagnose mechanical issues.
Strong organizational and record\-keeping skills.
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple maintenance requests.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
Physical ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, walking, and working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive information.
