GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT
The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of the campground facilities and grounds. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to perform a variety of maintenance and groundskeeping tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on campground facilities, including restrooms, showers, cabins, and common areas.
Maintain and repair plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems as needed.
Empty and properly dispose of waste from septic tanks for campers, RVs, and trailers, ensuring safe and sanitary handling in compliance with campground procedures.
Perform regular pool maintenance, including water testing, chemical balancing, cleaning filters, skimmers, and pool surfaces to ensure a safe and clean swimming environment.
Conduct regular inspections of the grounds and facilities to identify and address any maintenance issues.
Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the campground, including trash removal, landscaping, and general cleaning.
Perform groundskeeping duties such as mowing, raking, trimming, and watering plants.
Assist with the setup and teardown of events and activities held at the campground.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
Operate and maintain maintenance equipment and tools.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Lead and other team members to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks.
Assist campers with site set‑up when required, including guiding RV placement, connecting utilities, and answering basic campground or site‑related questions.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Post-secondary technical training or certification in facilities maintenance, HVAC, plumbing or electrical systems, groundskeeping or landscaping or carpentry, considered an asset
1–2 years of experience in maintenance, repair, or a related field, considered an asset
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, and willingness to learn.
Ability to operate maintenance and groundskeeping equipment and tools safely and effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Valid driver's license.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Environment
The Maintenance Worker operates in both indoor and outdoor environments across the campground, including communal areas, cabins, washrooms, trails, and natural landscapes.
Outdoor work involves exposure to seasonal weather conditions such as rain, wind, hail, snow, and extreme heat or cold, which may affect comfort and safety. Appropriate protective gear is required.
The role may involve working in rugged terrain, near bodies of water, or in forested areas.
Maintenance tasks may be performed in noisy, dusty, or cluttered settings, especially during repairs, landscaping, or equipment operation.
Physical Effort
The position requires regular physical activities such as walking between sites, lifting and carrying tools or supplies (up to and possibly exceeding 50lbs), and performing manual tasks.
Tasks often involve bending, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods, particularly during inspections, repairs, or groundskeeping.
Flexibility is needed to work during weekends, holidays, and evenings, which may increase physical fatigue over time.
A strong level of physical endurance and mobility is necessary to meet the demands of the role in a dynamic outdoor setting, while respecting the natural and cultural integrity of the land

High visual attention is required to assess repair needs, monitor contractor work, and maintain accurate records in software or spreadsheets.
