Overview
The Maximo SME will support the Enterprise Work Management System (EWMS) Programme and vendor teams as a core Maximo expert, configuring the Maximo Application Suite for work management implementations within the City's technology ecosystem. This role is responsible for managing all functional and technical aspects of Maximo solution development, including design, configuration, and interface management, ensuring a high level of solution quality. The SME will oversee the full lifecycleâfrom design through testing and go\-live deployment.
The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge of IBM Maximo Work Management processes and understand how an EWMS system and complementary third\-party products integrate into a technical architecture to meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead both functional and technical aspects of Maximo solution development, including:
- Configuration design
- System integrations
- Custom Maximo applications
- Mobile solutions
- Ensure high standards of quality throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Oversee end\-to\-end realization of the solution, from design to testing and deployment.
- Work closely with the EWMS Maximo programme team to configure and implement Maximo systems as per divisional requirements.
- Build consensus and resolve technical challenges across teams.
- Manage testing activities via programme resources and assist in promoting code to SIT/QA for UAT.
- Prepare test plans, test cases, scenarios, and result documentation.
- Track problems, defects, and issues within large projects.
- Analyse results and create reports for management as needed.
- Identify dependencies and define them clearly for team members.
- Assure delivery of quality Maximo products and features.
- Provide assessments and recommendations on new technology trends for effective use and acquisition.

Qualifications and Experience
- 12+ years of demonstrable experience in design, development, upgrade, documentation, and full lifecycle implementation of Work and Asset Management solutions using IBM Maximo MAS, Maximo Mobile, and Maximo 7.6.x.
- Extensive experience leading large\-scale IBM Maximo implementations, including project delivery, system migrations, testing, upgrades, and major go\-lives.
- Strong background in leading development teams and providing technical direction throughout the SDLC.
- Expertise in solution design and post\-implementation support for Maximo and Maximo Mobile applications.
- Solid understanding of enterprise integrations, automation frameworks, and cloud technologies.
- Skilled in gathering business requirements, mapping processes, and designing Maximo\-based solutions.
- Experienced in legacy data conversion, data mapping, and data migration.
- Strong involvement in system and application testing, including test case development and execution.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across divisions to build consensus and resolve technical challenges.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem\-solving skills.
Technical Capabilities
- Customization: Maximo Business Objects & Web Beans (Java), Automation Scripts (Java, Python, or other scripting languages)
- Integration: Designing and implementing integrations using Maximo Integration Framework (MIF)
- Spatial Configuration: Strong knowledge of Maximo Spatial configuration & ArcGIS
- Mobile: Experience with Maximo Mobile development and support
