What you'll do:

Join our People Services team as a People Services Assistant, where you’ll play an important role in shaping the employee experience from the very first point of contact. Reporting to the General Manager, People Services, this position offers hands‑on assistance in the full-cycle recruitment process, and administrative support to the supporting job description and job evaluation processes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detail‑oriented work, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is looking to grow their career in human resources.

  • Recruitment Support: You will support end‑to‑end recruitment administration by posting job opportunities, coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, and maintaining accurate competition records. You will also assist with onboarding and provide responsive administrative support to ensure recruitment processes run smoothly and align with organizational requirements.
  • Job Description Maintenance & Support: You will support the maintenance of job descriptions by collecting, formatting, editing, and organizing job‑related documentation, while managing databases, tracking tools, and version control. You will also coordinate review and job evaluation processes with People Services and internal stakeholders, ensuring records are accurate, current, and properly maintained.
  • People Services Support: You will provide general People Services support by responding to routine inquiries, recording meeting minutes, and stepping in to support team members as needed. You will also assist the General Manager, People Services with administrative tasks such as preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations,.
In accordance with County Policy, a Police Record Check that is acceptable to the County will be required as a condition of employment.

This job is for you if…
  • Our non-negotiables: You have a post secondary education in Business Administration with a focus in Human Resources Management, Commerce or a relevant program. You have a valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Experience & Certifications: You have at least one (1) year experience in a Human Resources related environment. Having your CHRP designation or being close to obtaining it would be considered an asset. 
  • Organization & Attention to Detail: You’re able to manage multiple recruitment files, documents, and deadlines while maintaining accurate records, version control, and compliance with established policies and procedures. You are able to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and timelines to meet departmental or organizational needs.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: You interact professionally with candidates, hiring managers, and People Services team members, ensuring timely, respectful communication and effective coordination throughout recruitment and job description processes.
  • Collaborative Team Approach: You work well as part of a team, willingly sharing information, providing backup support when needed, and contributing to a positive, cooperative work environment.
