QA - Data Validation & API Testing - Contractor

About the Role

As the QA - Data Validation & API Testing, you will lead comprehensive testing efforts for the backend data processing systems, API functionality, and data integrity validation for a sophisticated health assessment platform. 

This role requires expertise in testing complex data workflows, document processing pipelines, AI-powered scoring algorithms, and ensuring accurate data correlation throughout the entire system. You will validate that health assessment data flows correctly from test equipment through document processing, database storage, AI analysis, and final score delivery, with particular attention to data accuracy, security, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading comprehensive API testing for RESTful services, data endpoints, and integration points across the health assessment platform


• Validating complex data processing workflows including PDF ingestion, document parsing, and structured data extraction


• Testing database integrity, data correlation accuracy, and user attribution throughout multi-step data processing pipelines


• Performing thorough validation of AI scoring algorithms, recommendation engines, and data-driven analysis outputs


• Testing data synchronization between multiple systems including databases, document processing services, and AI platforms


• Validating data accuracy and integrity across ETL processes, data transformations, and workflow orchestration systems


• Conducting comprehensive testing of real-time data processing, async workflows, and background job processing


• Testing error handling, retry logic, and data recovery scenarios for failed processing workflows


• Validating user session data persistence, test completion tracking, and status monitoring accuracy


• Performing security testing for sensitive health data handling, encryption, and access control mechanisms


• Testing data export/import functionality, backup systems, and data migration processes


• Collaborating with backend developers and data engineers to identify and resolve data processing issues


• Creating and maintaining comprehensive API testing suites, data validation scripts, and automated testing frameworks

What we are looking for

Must-Have:

• At least 4+ years of experience in QA testing with strong emphasis on backend systems, data validation, and API testing


• Proven experience testing complex data processing pipelines, ETL workflows, and database systems


• Strong background in comprehensive API testing including REST endpoints, authentication, and data validation


• Experience testing AI/ML systems, algorithm outputs, and data-driven recommendation engines


• Experience with healthcare, fitness, or data-sensitive applications requiring rigorous data accuracy and compliance testing (nice to have)


• Demonstrated expertise in database testing, data integrity validation, and multi-system data correlation


• Strong understanding of document processing testing, file handling, and automated data extraction validation


• Experience testing real-time data processing, async workflows, and background job systems


• Proven ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments with complex data testing scenarios


• Experience using AI-powered testing tools and automated data validation frameworks for accelerated QA workflows

Technologies

• API Testing: Postman, Insomnia, REST Assured, comprehensive API testing frameworks and automation


• Database Testing: SQL validation, data integrity testing, database performance testing, query optimization validation


• Data Processing: ETL testing tools, data pipeline validation, workflow orchestration testing


• Document Testing: PDF processing validation, OCR accuracy testing, document parsing verification


• AI/ML Testing: Algorithm output validation, model performance testing, recommendation accuracy verification


• Backend Testing: Microservices testing, async processing validation, background job monitoring


• Security Testing: Data encryption validation, access control testing, compliance verification tools


• Automation: Python/JavaScript testing frameworks, automated data validation scripts, CI/CD testing integration


• Monitoring: Log analysis, error tracking, data quality monitoring and alerting systems

Nice to Have

• Experience with healthcare data compliance testing (HIPAA, GDPR) and privacy regulation validation preferred


• Background in performance testing for data-intensive applications and high-volume processing systems


• Experience with cloud platform testing (AWS, Azure) including database services and serverless functions


• Understanding of data warehouse testing, analytics validation, and reporting accuracy verification


• Experience with load testing for API endpoints and data processing systems under high concurrency


• Familiarity with data science workflows and statistical analysis validation
