Job Description - (Seasonal) Park Maintenance Worker - Special Events

SALARY RATE: $14.10 per hour (up to 600 hours per year or 120 days per season).

Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Additionally, eligible seasonal employees will receive a $0.60 per hour seasonal bonus for all hours worked. Click here for details.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involve the custodial maintenance of buildings and other park structures. This position primarily works late night special events at our Environmental Discovery Center Banquet Room. Regular Friday and Saturday night availability is essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The list below is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employee shall perform other duties as assigned.

Performs grounds maintenance around the picnic areas.
Empties trash barrels.
Picks up litter using a prod or by hand.
Mowing, string trimming.
Maintains and weeds flower beds.
Restroom cleaning and maintenance.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED: Requires the frequent use of hand tools used for raking, digging, pruning, leveling; custodial tools such as brooms, mops, toilet plungers; some landscape equipment; basic construction tools such as hammers, saws, tape measures, carpenter square. Miscellaneous hand and power tools used for turf maintenance, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and cement finishing work. Less use of personal computer, word processing, phone, radio, calculator and copy machine.

Must possess a valid driver's license and be 18 years of age.
