Job Summary
The Shop Hand will be responsible for identifying and moving parts within the shop to ensure efficient production flow. This role involves monitoring and reporting on materials. The Shop Hand will assist in the assembly of tools while ensuring compliance with quality control standards.
Position Details
Status: Full-Time, 3-Month Contract
Shift: Monday - Friday, 4:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Location: Calgary, AB (NE Area)
Duties and Responsibilities
Protecting their own and others’ health and safety at or in the vicinity of the work site.
Cooperating with their employer or supervisor by following health and safety rules for the job.
Using all hazard controls and wearing personal protection equipment designated or provided by the employer or required by the OHS legislation.
Refraining from causing or participating in harassment and violence.
Participating in any training provided by the employer.
Cooperating with any person exercising a duty under the OHS legislation.
Communication with their colleagues, supervisors, and managers.
Identifying parts to be put into production line.
Receiving, picking, and sorting supplies, parts, tools, and stock.
Conducting Pre-Use Inspections of mobile equipment.
Operating equipment including hand tools, pallet jack, forklift, and crane.
Assist in the assembly of tools.
Ensure compliance with quality control standards in preparing tools for assembly, testing, and shipping.
Manual and mechanical lifting/moving equipment, materials, and supplies which can include setting up and operating.
Performing routine housekeeping around the shop.
Occasional photocopying, printing, and other job duties assigned as required.
Required Abilities, Knowledge, Experience
Shipping and receiving experience.
Basic computer skills and ability to navigate through shipping app and SharePoint.
Experience with utilizing various hand tools.
Capable of moving heavy equipment, materials, and supplies up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
Ability to communicate effective with co-workers.
