As the Social Worker in our Long-Term Care Community at the Heights of Mt. View you’ll serve as a part of the multidisciplinary care team, advocating for residents and assessing their psychosocial needs to enhance their well-being. 

About The Role 

This full-time temporary role is a Monday - Friday schedule from 8:30 to 4:30. This position will be integral to addressing the psychosocial needs of residents, ensuring their well-being, and fostering a supportive environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead and oversee both team and program operations, including health and safety initiatives. 
• Model the Wellness Model of Care and inspire the team to follow best practices. 
• Lead resident care conferences and facilitate end-of-service planning. 
• Provide crisis intervention and debriefing for residents, their loved ones, and team members. 
• Offer adjustment counseling and assess eligibility for financial or material assistance. 
• Collaborate with the care team to develop personalized service plans. 
• Lead support groups, advocate for legislative programs, and revise policies as needed. 
• Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, team members, and external agencies. 
• Manage bed matching and oversee continuous quality improvement initiatives. 
• Maintain a private pay waitlist and ensure efficient resident placement. 
• Identify and address unsafe situations, promoting secure work practices and a safe environment. 

The Heights at Mt. View is a modern, seven-storey complex care community in Saanich, BC, featuring 260 suites. It offers 24/7 Long-Term Care services providing residents with both comprehensive support and convenient access to local amenities.

Requirements 

• Minimum bachelor's degree in social work. Master of Social Work preferred. 
• Current registration in good standing with the British Columbia College of Social Workers (BCCSW). 
• Minimum of one year of experience providing services to seniors, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation & Benefits 

The compensation for this temporary full-time position is aligned with the Health Sciences Professionals wage grid, offering a competitive range of $42.27 to $52.81 per hour. You’ll be welcomed into a supportive work environment where your well-being and growth are valued.
