Job Description - Surveyor

Castle Rock Enterprises has been a market leader in the areas of underground utilities (sewer, water, electrical), site preparation, quarry services, land remediation and trucking for over 25 years. Founded in 1995, the company was purchased by Dakwakada Capital Investments (DCI) in 2010, which has maintained its family-business culture. DCI is a privately owned investment firm in Whitehorse, Yukon that holds and manages most business assets of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations (CAFN).

Job Summary


Castle Rock Enterprises is looking for an experienced Surveyor to support our water, sewer, and road construction projects. This is a hands-on, field-focused role requiring technical expertise, accuracy, and collaboration with construction teams.



Key Responsibilities



  • Perform onsite surveys and take precise measurements for construction projects

  • Collect elevations for as-built drawings and verify work against design specifications

  • Set up, operate, and maintain survey equipment (GPS, total station, levels)

  • Manage GPS and machine control files, including troubleshooting and calibration

  • Provide layout and staking for water, sewer, road, concrete, and asphalt projects

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to guide construction crews

  • Maintain accurate survey records and documentation for quality assurance and compliance

  • Ensure all work meets municipal, territorial, and industry standards



Qualifications



  • Experience with Trimble (preferred) or TopCon survey software

  • Strong focus on vertical grade and layout accuracy

  • Able to work independently in the field and manage multiple priorities

  • Knowledge of water, sewer, and civil construction projects

  • Awareness of site hazards and adherence to health and safety standards
