About Harmac Pacific
We are a Market Pulp and Energy production facility located in Nanaimo, B.C.  Our company is a private business based on an employee ownership model.  Our primary business is operating the Harmac Pacific pulp mill which is renowned for its production of world class quality NBSK pulp, along with green electrical energy generation that is exported to BC Hydro.  Our success will be achieved through the guidance, ingenuity, and hard work of the people that both work for and own our company. Job description:
We are seeking motivated people to join our team at Harmac Pacific Pulp Mill for our annual maintenance shutdown from March 16-26, 2026. All holewatch training is provided onsite. Under the direction of the
Holewatch Supervisors, you will support operations by keeping our contractors safe. Shifts are 10-12 hours, with both dayshifts and nightshifts offered.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Record keeping
  • Using a radio for communication
  • Ensure safety of contractors
  • Monitor activities inside and outside of vessels
  • Work with our gas testers
  • Open and close vessels
Qualifications:
  • Able to work 10-12 hour shifts.
  • Available the week of March 9, 2026, and between March 16-26, 2026
  • Able to work 40 hours per week during the shut down period (March 16-26, 2026)
  • Must be physically capable of carrying out job requirements
  • Previous experience in pulp and paper or other manufacturing industries would be considered a strong asset.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
