POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Store Manager, the Thrift Store associate is responsible for customer-oriented care. The Thrift Store Floor Associate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store, assisting customers with their shopping needs, and processing donated items. This role will be responsible for excellent customer service skills, working in a fast-paced environment, having a keen eye for detail, and ensuring that the store is meeting the overall mission of the Calgary Dream Center.

Interdepartmental Problem-Solving Working closely with all departments to identify challenges and share knowledge to drive solutions to create a united team.
Responsible for participating in staff events and functions Essential to support fun and dynamic team functions to participate in CDC culture.
Assist customers with their shopping needs by providing exceptional customer service, answering questions, and directing them to specific items or areas of the store.
Receive, sort, price, and prepare donated items for sale on the sales floor.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor by restocking shelves, racks, and displays as needed, ensuring merchandise is properly labeled and priced, and arranging merchandise in an attractive and appealing manner.
Operate the cash register and handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
Assist with store opening and closing procedures, including cleaning and securing the store at the end of the day.
Ensure compliance with store policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols, and report any violations to the store manager.
Perform other duties as assigned by the store manager.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in retail or customer service preferred.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Being friendly and easy-going to excel in the customer service environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift and move boxes and other merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
