Accountant

Job Description The Accountant will play a crucial role in the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This position involves a blend of financial reporting, tax preparation, auditing, and analysis to ensure accurate financial statements and efficient financial processes. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, analytical thinker with a passion for improving financial practices and driving business success. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
• Conduct detailed account analyses and reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Coordinate with the finance team to complete audits, identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting, providing insights to support business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local tax regulations by preparing accurate tax filings and returns.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. -Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and consultants as required.
• Support the finance department with ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, and MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
