Junior Accountant

Location: Downtown Vancouver (Hybrid)

Hays Recruitment has partnered up with a state-of-the-art Real Estate developer based in Vancouver (the role is flexible and hybrid). This client develops residential and commercial properties throughout British Columbia. Salary Range: 50-60K

CPA Fees support and mentorship

Your new role:

• Assist with preparing and maintaining financial statements
• Full-cycle accounting
• Monthly bank, GL, subledger reconciliations and other working papers
• Assist with and learn month-end close procedures and other financial reporting deliverables including balance sheet reconciliations and analysis
• Perform ad-hoc tasks and assist with projects to support the project accountant team, finance team, including financial analysis and key performance indicator monitoring, and full cycle project accounting support
• Account Payable and invoicing tasks
• Reconciling vendor accounts
• Conducting ad hoc based projects and analysis as needed
• Work along the senior accounting team and the controller to achieve company wide goals

What you will need to succeed:

• Completion of an Accounting Degree or a Diploma
• 1-2 years of full-cycle accounting experience or AP background with a keen attitude to learn
• CPA candidates are preferred but not a must (company provide support on CPA fees, mentorship and competencies)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience in Real Estate Development, Architecture, or Construction preferred but not a must
