Accounting Assistant

Your new company

This company is known best for their Construction, Design, and Integrity offering solutions-based operations and a superior finished product and are now seeking a junior accounting assistant to join the rapidly growing team based in Langley, BC.

Your new role:

The role will report to the Director of Finance and be responsible for the following duties:

• Collaborate on the implementation of a new software system.
• Work closely with the Accounts Payable function.
• Organize invoices, statements, and other relevant documentation.
• Gather approvals and record invoices for processing.
• Reconcile bank accounts.
• Prepare purchase orders for new jobs.
• Create and maintain vendor/contractor records.
• File accounting documents, including invoices and vendor banking information.
• Assist Finance team members and Office Administrator at month-end close.
• Manage the general accounting mailbox, responding to finance queries promptly.
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and controls.

What you will need to succeed

• Accounting experience in bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
• Diploma or relevant certificate related to accounting or finance
• Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage300 CRE would be an asset, along with strong working knowledge of Excel.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong interpersonal skills will combine with your impeccable accuracy and high attention to detail to ensure your success in this role.
