Job Description - Accounts Receivable Coordinator

Peninsula Construction Inc , a division of RSG International , is a leader in the road safety infrastructure sector. Established in 1980, we are committed to installing road safety products with the highest level of safety, expertise, and customer service to help create roadways in Ontario. Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Accounts Receivable Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating the accounts receivable activities. The successful candidate will oversee and coordinate collections, and the compilation of the accounts receivable reports. The position closely monitors the aging of accounts receivable and initiates appropriate steps to facilitate collections from customers. Responsibilities
  • Review aged accounts receivable daily and take appropriate action for payment collections
  • Monthly AR reconciliation, client account review and client account statement processing
  • Monthly follow-up with customers by phone on all outstanding payments
  • Prepare Statutory Declarations and WSIB Certificates as required for payment.
  • Deposit all cheques daily
  • Apply and reconcile all deposits to ledger: Deposit checks / ACH deposits / Credit Cards
  • Verify and reconcile any payment discrepancies with Contracts Department or Management
  • Maintain A/R accounts within good standards and as per company objectives
  • Prepare and present monthly AR report to management and advise on any collection concerns
  • Prepare all Accounts Receivable related financial reports as directed by management
  • Assist in monthly and year end audit processes
  • Perform Credit checks as required
  • Monitor inbox and respond to customer requests in a timely manner
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as may be required.
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of experience in an Accounting Administrative, Accounts Receivable or other related position
  • College Degree in Accounting is an asset
  • Previous experience in the construction industry is an asset
  • Excellent computer skills, proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Proficiency in accounting software, experience with Jonas is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment and independently
  • Proven organizational skills for prioritizing demands, workflow and meeting deadlines
  • Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adaptable to changing business conditions and a fast-paced work environment
  • Self-starter who seeks out new knowledge and solutions
