Engineer I-IV

As part of the Technical Team at Coleson Cove, the Engineer I-IV is responsible to provide technical support and guidance to station personnel, perform equipment and vessel inspections, prepare inspection reports, and provide recommendations on the repair requirements of station equipment and vessels. Additionally, this role oversees and manages contracts and projects to ensure their safe, timely and cost-effective completion. While the primary focus will be on the Coleson Cove Generating Station, the incumbent will also be expected to support the Grand Manan and Bayside Generating Stations
Key functions include:
· Perform project work including project scope definition, cost estimates, development of tender documents, project planning and coordination, conduct project meetings, organize, and execute all aspects of project work from start to finish.
· Provide technical direction/guidance to mechanical maintenance personnel regarding equipment maintenance, overhauls and repairs as well as perform vessel and equipment inspections and prepare inspection report.
· Assume QA/QC site coordination functions by working with the provincial boiler inspector (NBTIS Authorized Inspector) and station staff on pressure boundary code inspections, alterations, inspections, and welding. Review and approve inspection test plans for code welding work. Specify equipment maintenance best practices, revise and update drawings and procedures as required.
Our ideal teammate will have:
· A Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
· Registered as a Professional Engineer.
· Three years of experience providing technical direction in the field of Mechanical Engineering in a heavy industrial environment
· Performing mechanical equipment assessments in a heavy industrial environment
· Experience as a QA/QC Engineer who works with pressure boundary code related repairs, alterations, and inspections with the local boiler inspection agency.
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
