Financial Analyst - Intermediate Intro : Join our team as a Financial Analyst - Intermediate and play a pivotal role in the financial operations and compliance at our ministry. Reporting to the Financial Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial transactions and providing expert advice and analysis to support decision-making across various departments. Financial Analyst - Intermediate Job Details : In this role, you will handle intermediate accounting tasks that influence the ministry’s financial statements, ensure accurate posting and reporting of accounting transactions, and manage the Accounting Officer compliance function. Your duties will include performing compliance reviews on daily transactions, assisting in account and bank reconciliations, and providing financial advisory services. You will also analyze and resolve operational issues, interpret financial policies, and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Financial Analyst - Intermediate Mandatory Skills :

• University degree in business administration, accounting, or finance (or equivalent education and experience).
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience, with a preference for those enrolled in a professional accounting program (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with SAP.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, audit principles, internal controls, and government financial management systems.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to exercise professional judgment and solve problems analytically.

Financial Analyst - Intermediate Desired Skills :

• Experience with process improvement and documentation.
• Background in public sector finance or IT accounting processes.
• Pursuing or holding a CPA designation is highly regarded.

Financial Analyst - Intermediate Start Date : Anticipated interview dates are between May 6-10, 2024. The candidate must be ready to commence duties shortly thereafter, subject to the completion of a standard background check. Financial Analyst - Intermediate Location : This hybrid position is based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The candidate must be available to work onsite three days per week and must reside in Canada due to network and data security requirements.
