General Accounting Clerk/Payroll Assistant

Position: General Accounting Clerk/Payroll Assistant
Salary: TBA Purpose:
To perform general accounting duties in a busy accounting department, including support for Payroll Qualifications * Strong accounting background and a comprehensive understanding of accounting issues and practices - including payroll
* Good interpersonal skills (written and oral communication)
* Computer literate with Oracle or other large ERP systems
* Intermediate Excel skills
* Previous experience with payroll is preferred
* Accuracy and efficiency required
* ADP and AS400 experience would be considered an asset Roles and Responsibilities * Process driver on the road expenses
* 407 - allocation of payment and monthly accrual
* Fuel and parts inventory
* Journal entries
* Reconciliations
* Ensure bank deposits match clerk reporting
* Intercompany invoicing for fuel and cleaning
* ADP Time and Attendance administration
* Driver Sick day Management
* Government Taxes - ie. HST/QST
* Quarterly Overtime reporting as per Union Contracts
* Provide backup for Payroll Administrator as needed
