For more information, please go to The Role: Are you a patient focused Lab Technician with medical administration experience and excellent written and telephone communication skills? KMH Cardiology Centres Inc. is recruiting for a Patient Care Coordinator/Lab Technician (PCC) for our busy specialist physician practices in Hamilton and Burlington. This role will provide coverage at _both locations_. The successful candidate will be a part of a team of 14 members with the goal of facilitating patient intake through timely and high quality and administrative care for KMH patients. The team works in conjunction with the Specialist Practise teams to provide outstanding patient and physician satisfaction, support and retention. The Accountabilities:

• Patient Intake: clinic/in person and virtual
• Coordination of daily clinic operations
• Management of Physician orders
• Tasks Management including Chart Checks and Report Uploads
• Perform ECG and Holter and Blood Pressure Monitor Hook up
• Respond to patient enquiries regarding clinical care within 24 business hours
• Manage missed appointments and follow up with patients on those appointments
• Inform and educate patients about tests and procedures as requested by physician
• Process prescription renewal requests as directed by physician in collaboration with administrative staff within 24 business hours
• Optimize clinic capacity
• Ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner within pre-defined KPI's for team
• Meet and achieve KPI's and goals. Utilize Tableau daily to facilitate KPI attainment
• Foster a collegial, respectful clinic environment
• Serve as a liaison between members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure:
• High standards of quality and optimal management of patient care outcomes

Minimum qualifications:

• Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent
• Lab Technician (certified)
• Medical administration experience

Required skills and experience:

• Proven ability to work proficiently in a busy fast paced specialist clinic environment
• Self-directed, detail oriented with an ability to multitask, establish priorities and achieve objectives with minimal supervision
• BLS
• Phlebotomy experience is an asset
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good telephone manner
• Strong conflict resolution skills
• Proficiency in technology including MS Office and EMR systems experience
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Possesses effective analytical and problem solving skills
• Able to deal with sensitive information with a high degree of diplomacy
• Team orientation
• The ability to provide coverage at both locations

The Lab Technician team takes pride in our patient focused environment and works very closely with other service and clinical teams at KMH. This is a full-time role scheduled for 5 days (37.5 hours) per week during the hours of 8.00 a.m.-4.00 p.m./4.30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Saturday's are required on rotation with the team for 1-2 times per month. The role is based at our Hamilton and Burlington labs. This position reports to the Team Lead: Patient Care Coordinators.
