Job Description - Maintenance Supervisor

If you value ethics, have a passion for cannabis, then this is the job for you! Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the care and maintenance of all aspects of the
Cronos Growing Company Inc. greenhouses, warehouses, and office. This includes maintaining an effective preventative maintenance program; the hiring, training, and supervising of all maintenance personnel, the procuring of supplies, material, and equipment, and assisting with budget preparation and operating within budgetary guidelines. Completing and maintaining proper documentation as required by Health Canada. Job Duties:

  • Performing daily walkthroughs of the facility, inspecting equipment, machinery, and infrastructure.
  • Maintaining electrical, plumbing, mechanical and related systems.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement within the process and equipment.
  • Supervising and assigning the work of maintenance employees and inspecting work for completeness.
  • Developing daily maintenance plans.
  • Providing timely response to outstanding work orders.
  • Ensuring the implementation of a successful Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Determining material, equipment and supplies required to maintain systems.
  • Working with heating, irrigation, ventilation, curtains, scissor karts, sorting equipment, automated stacking, and bagging machines; pumps, motors, frequency drives, boilers, piping, valves, heat exchangers, radiators, tanks, sensors, relays, batteries, computers, electrical, electronics, etc.
  • Ensuring new and existing equipment and tools comply with all safety regulations in accordance with the
  • Occupational Health & Safety Act and Health Canada guidelines.
  • Generating all snow removal operations report as well as daily track status updates.
  • Overseeing all snow removal machinery and carry out daily and periodic maintenance.
  • Communicating with suppliers, as necessary.
  • Ensure all paperwork and logbooks are updated and comply with Health Canada audit standards.
  • Other duties as required.


Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years supervisory experience; experience in a greenhouse setting will be considered an asset.
  • Current trade license will be considered an asset.
  • Good understanding of the technical features of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge facilities machines and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral and spoken) in English; additional languages (i.e., Spanish) will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Superior interpersonal skills that encourage the development of employees through regular performance reviews, feedback, holding self and others accountable.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and an energetic style who sets an example and creates an environment of high expectations.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Experience with greenhouse infrastructure will be considered an asset.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Forklift training and/or license will be considered an asset.
  • Speak and understand English, Spanish an asset.
  • Ability to provide and maintain security clearance.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all work required of this position, i.e., occasional lifting of 15 kg up to shoulder height, frequent bending, occasional squatting/kneeling, working inside and outside in all types of weather within environments that can be dusty and/or slippery.


Work Conditions:

  • 24/7 availability may be required.
  • Physical ability to lift to 50lbs.
  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g., steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Hazards associated with trade.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Noisy with fumes.
  • Conditions in the greenhouse may be hot and humid in the summer. Outdoor work may also be required.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, squatting, and bending.
