Manager of Accounts Receivable & Payable Location Barrie, ON :
M Group of Companies is seeking a versatile and motivated Manager of Accounts Receivable and Payable to join our dynamic and growing accounting team. This role offers a unique opportunity to cross-train in all areas of accounting, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of our financial operations. The successful candidate will manage and support both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions and oversee a team of accounting professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Review and manage the entry and coding of AP transactions and oversee cheque runs.
- Analyze AP transactions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Accounts Receivable:
- Oversee receipting and creation of deposits in the Yardi system.
- Produce N1/N4 forms as required.
- Input tenant information and applications, set up leases, and run charges.
- Analyze ledgers to maintain accurate financial records.
- Interact with Clients and Property Managers to resolve issues and provide support.
- Review arrears and work with in house paralegal for collections
People Management:
- Manage a team of 8+ accounting clerks, providing training, oversight and performance management.
- Establish, refine, and implement processes and procedures, ensuring consistency across the team.
- Hire, train, and motivate team members to achieve departmental goals.
- Oversee routine department activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain accurate and complete financial, employee, and client records.
- Compile, analyze, and report financial information to management and government agencies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software experience with Yardi is a preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
