We're on the lookout for a Controller extraordinaire to join our dynamic team. Dive into a role where problem-solving, innovation, and top-notch communication skills are key! Responsibilities Manage the general ledger, monthly closing process and preparation of timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements. Oversee AP, AR, Payroll, Warranty, Banking, Inventory financing and Deal posting transactions along with commissions and incentives calculation. Responsible for cash management including timely reconciliation of bank accounts, preparation of cash flow and cash forecast reports. Prepare and review journal entries and monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. Ensure the general ledger accounts are reconciled with resolution to reconciling items and contain appropriate supporting backup in a timely manner. Coordinate and complete year-end financial process for auditors– including accruals, amortization journal entries, working paper schedules, account reconciliations. Keep up to date the policies and procedures relating to accounting areas assigned. Assure standard accounting procedures established by the respective OEM and Holding company are adhered to. Support the annual budgeting and planning process. Assist the GM to establish forecasts to meet financial targets. Provide financial analysis and expertise to support management decision-making including explanations of variances between budget, prior year, forecast and actual results. Work closely with General Manager to support the business unit(s) with respect to inventory management, fixed operation scheduling and optimizing utilization of resources, purchasing, inventory financing and car delivery status, by collecting, interpreting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Communicate with operations and department managers to solve communication problems regarding deal posting documentation, financing, receiving, invoicing, transfers and inventory related issues, and train them in proper procedures. Comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Ensure proper internal controls are in place, documented and working as designed. Make recommendations to increase operational efficiency and accuracy. Improve processes related to the above duties and responsibilities.
