Director of Finance

As we continue to scale and improve our offering, we are looking for a Director of Finance to join our visionary team. This role will be instrumental in guiding Arbio towards sustainable financial success and operational excellence.

You will have an impact on:

• As Director of Finance, you will be the most senior person in the Finance department and leading a team of 5-10 Arbians (starting solely with the Finance function in the beginning and then overseeing related departments like Revenue, BI or Legal as well)
  
• You will serve as a strategic business partner to our founders, be a central part of the company leadership team and work closely with all departments of the company
  
• You will be fully responsible for all things related to Finance @Arbio - from overlooking budget planning over the preparation of timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to cash flow management & liquidity management
  
• You will be actively participating in fundraising activities on the equity side and spearheading debt financing to empower Arbio’s future growth
  
• You will build and maintain effective relationships with Banks, Accounting Offices, Financial Authorities, and other stakeholders, and oversee external service providers.
  
• You will continuously monitor and drive process improvements within the Accounting and Finance function, leveraging automation and technology (software systems) to streamline workflows and increase overall efficiency
  

What you will add:

• A minimum of 8+ years of experience in finance, including at least 3 years in a leadership position
• You have experience working in a startup/fast-paced environment with a complex finance setup (operations-heavy/multiple country/multi-entity business) and expertise structuring and managing debt financing
• Experience leading, coaching and building a team effectively
• Proactive, hands-on attitude and ability to work independently
• Experience with M&A or buy-and-build is a big plus
• In case you’re based outside of Berlin, being open to traveling to Berlin on a regular basis
• Fluency in English and German (C1) is a strong must
