Senior Accountant

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and process-driven Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, extensive experience within an accounting firm, and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Responsibilities

• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and implement necessary adjusting entries.
• Prepare monthly financial statements with precision and attention to detail.
• Compile quarterly financial statements and craft MD&A reports.
• Prepare T100 and T101 tax slips for flow-through shares financing.
• Liaise with external auditors to facilitate year-end audited statements.
• Generate ad hoc reports tailored to client needs.
• Efficiently handle year-end engagements (compilations) and T2 tax returns.
• Perform bookkeeping for small and mid-sized businesses, including HST, WSIB, and payroll source deductions filing.
• Process payroll for clients with both salaried and hourly employees.
• Review and prepare personal and trust tax returns.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university.
• CPA designation is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Over 5 years of progressive experience within an accounting firm.
• Proficient in accounting and tax software, including CaseWare, Profile, QBO, QBD, and Karbon.
• Advanced computer skills encompassing MS Office (Word and Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and Cloud computing/VPN systems.
• Ability to effectively prioritize workloads and adeptly manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Possess strong leadership qualities, analytical acumen, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
