Senior Accountant, CPA

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) to fill a Senior Accountant role. Reporting to the Controller, you will be based in our Edmonton office, and will be responsible for specific divisions within the corporate group, while assisting with software implementations and other ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities:

• Perform full cycle accounting duties, including preparing financial statements and managing the audit process for certain companies within the corporate group
• Prepare working papers and ensure compliance with accounting standards (ASPE) and regulations
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Excel and utilize it to analyze financial data efficiently
• Contribute to software implementation, testing, and business process mapping
• Conduct special projects as needed
• Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Possess strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines consistently
• Collaborate closely with the CFO and Controller to achieve departmental goals
• 80% of the role will be conducted in the Edmonton office and 20% will be done remotely

Qualifications:

• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is mandatory
• Minimum of 5 years of post-designation experience in an industry setting
• Knowledge of Power BI
• Knowledge of tax compliance requirements, including dividend reporting, partnership filings, and GST
• Experience with software implementations
• Proven ability to work independently and demonstrate self-motivation
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to multitask
