Job Description - Senior Staff Accountant

​ ​ ​​​​​​​ Pivot Safety Products , a division of RSG International , is the leading distributor of roadside safety products, proudly serving Canadians since 2013. Our core products include a wide range of end terminals, guide rail systems, high-tension cable systems, sign supports, reduced exposure products, and temporary construction barrier (TCB). Pivot offers a broad range of products that have been tested under North American crash test standards with a commitment to the ongoing development of roadside safety products through quality and reliability.


JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in overseeing accounts receivable operations, managing financial reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in accounting principles, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, train, and oversee the accounts receivable team to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and collections.
  • Oversee the billing software to ensure accurate data representation and troubleshoot any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate the setup of all new projects and subcontractors, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with internal policies.
  • Perform job reconciliation and variance analysis to track project performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Co-ordinating with Project Managers to determine when projects reach substantial completion so holdback can be billed and collected in a timely manner.
  • Perform full-cycle journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and submit HST reporting, ensuring timely payment of corporate taxes.
  • Conduct monthly intercompany AR reconciliation and loan balance confirmations.
  • Provide audit trails and support to auditors during external audits.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Prepare monthly intercompany consolidation reports and reconcile sales billing reports for intercompany transactions.
  • Provide legal and operations teams with ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Generate various reports for the fleet department, including sales, asset listings, repairs, and utilization hours.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 5 years’ previous accounting experience at a similar level.
  • A CPA designation or working towards CPA designation.
  • Experience working with Jonas Management System.
  • Experience with project accounting and construction industry practices an asset.
  • Knowledge of IFRS standards.
  • Multi-company experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft 365 environment including Excel.
  • Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills.
