Job Description - Biophysical Environmental Manager

Requirements

Partner Staffing  is currently working with our client seeking a Biophysical Manager based in Calgary or Edmonton.

 

The Biophysical Environmental Manager will be responsible for leading and managing biophysical assessment projects, overseeing environmental monitoring programs, and providing strategic guidance on biophysical aspects of environmental management to clients in the oil and gas sector.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead and manage biophysical assessment projects, including habitat assessments, wetland delineations, vegetation surveys, and wildlife studies.

Design and implement environmental monitoring programs to assess the impact of industrial activities on natural ecosystems and wildlife populations.

Conduct fieldwork to collect data and samples, analyze findings, and prepare technical reports for clients and regulatory agencies.

Provide strategic guidance and expert advice to clients on biophysical aspects of environmental management, including habitat conservation, species at risk mitigation, and biodiversity enhancement.

Stay abreast of relevant environmental regulations, guidelines, and best practices to ensure compliance and minimize environmental impacts.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental scientists, engineers, and regulatory specialists, to develop integrated solutions for clients.

Build and maintain relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and project delivery.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff members to support their professional development and ensure quality project outcomes.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's or master's degree Biology

Member of the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists

Minimum of 10 years experience in environmental consulting or a related industry, with a focus on biophysical assessments and environmental management.

Strong knowledge of Alberta's environmental regulations, guidelines, and permitting processes.

Demonstrated expertise in conducting biophysical assessments, habitat surveys, and wildlife studies.

Proficiency in GIS software and other relevant technical tools for data analysis and mapping.

Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and budget constraints.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites across Alberta, including remote locations.
