CLINIC ASSISTANT

Job Description The Clinic Assistant supports the work unit by performing a variety of clerical and patient care tasks. This position reports to a Director or Site Leader/Manager in Radiation Therapy, Systemic Therapy, Outpatient Services, Clinical Trials and Hematology and Blood and Marrow Transplant Program. Job Qualifications Required Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Medical Office Assistant certificate (OR) Medical Administrative Assistant (OR) Office Administrative Assistant Program including medical terminology (OR) Continuing Care Assistant certificate (OR) completion of a Nursing or Radiation Therapy program

Experience No previous experience required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to effectively communicate factual information both orally and in writing.
• Ability to type proficiently.
• Accuracy of fine motor movements for typing/data entry is required.
• Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft applications
• Human relations skills required to empathize with complaints and/or concerns and establish rapport with patients, the public and other staff.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Required to follow established methods when performing duties.
• Some Judgment and problem solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a limited number of alternatives.
