Our client is seeking a full-time Contracts Manager within the off-Cloud Support Renewals organization. The role includes the
preparation, negotiation, administration, and management of existing and prospective customer contracts. Position supports the Support Renewals and Sales teams as well as the Legal Department, and requires an organized and articulate individual who exhibits a strong attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will be innovative in solving business problems and challenges, coordinate business and legal issues and questions, follow-up on responses with other departments within the organization, and be energetic, focused and results oriented with a high level of integrity and honesty. Regularly exercise judgment within defined policies and guidelines.
Your new role
- Review, negotiate and amend contractual paperwork as required to align to OpenText legal and business standards, including but not limited to: customer terms and conditions (eg: purchase orders), quotations, signed agreements relating to software support, public sector, framework and OEM accounts
- Participate in contract negotiation calls with existing and prospective customers, supporting the Sales, Support Renewals and Legal groups as needed. Negotiating mutually acceptable support terms, securing appropriate approvals, and drafting final contract documents
- Identifying and executing on opportunities to streamline & improve existing off-cloud Renewals practices
- Assist with special projects and team/departmental initiatives
What you need to succeed
- The position requires a bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business or contracting, or equivalent experience in an off-Cloud Renewals environment
- Prior experience dealing with contract review, drafting & negotiation (in English and/or other languages), and general business acumen, preferably within the software industry or related field
- Strong interpersonal communication skills along with analytical and problem-solving abilities are imperative. Additional language skills would be a bonus.
- Communicate and work well in a team environment and with existing clients including excellent verbal and written communications
- Ability to identify issues and determine when escalation to management is required
- Proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of the company including executive management
- Strong capabilities and expertise in Microsoft Office, in particular Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Proven ability to work under pressure in order to meet frequent deadlines
- Experience with business deal risk analysis and revenue recognition concepts
- Experience contracting with international, Government and regulated bodies a plus
