Who we are looking for:
This highly motivated, self-driven individual will carry out all financial planning, processing, accounting, treasury, and reporting. The results-driven and confident Financial Controller will manage, develop and improve current organization financial performance and direct both financial and accounting operations. Your strategic planning and exceptional numerical proficiency as a Financial Controller will aid our organization in maintaining positive revenue, financial growth, formulating sound financial strategies, implementing proper internal controls, achieving organizational targets and develop financial plans.
The Controller will be responsible for:
- Develop and implement the organizations financial department from its core.
- Work with the Accounting/Payroll, Operations and BI department to streamline processes, vendor payment systems and improve company financial health and growth.
- Carry out quarterly, annual, and year-end financial activities, analysis, forecasts and reports for the CEO, board members, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Monitor and ensure that all appropriate internal controls are in place to support critical function and budgeting processes.
- Oversee and prepare income statements, reconcile balance sheets, and deliver reports.
- Plan and execute all financial planning for the organization through strategic insights and critical thought.
- Ensure that the company is meeting all financial requirements, including required tax systems and are in compliance with respective legislation, laws and policy.
- Manage financial and accounting records, evaluating & managing risk, publishing financial statements, overseeing business operations, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes and ensuring accuracy across all financial information.
- Manage financial transactions, AR, AP, accounting/payroll and all financial operations.
- Oversee the company’s master data, treasury function, cashflow, budgets and banking.
- Coordinating audit process.
- Complete all administration associated with job role and department processes.
- Lead, coach, develop and train finance staff to nurture continuous financial improvement, promote best business practices to optimize efficiencies & reliable consumption, and correct current financial issues.
- Perform other reliable duties and responsibilities as assigned or required to meet the organization's growth and business needs.
- Manage insurance renewals and claims.
- All other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required.
- A master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is an asset.
- CPA designation is required.
- Proven minimum 5 – 7 years experience in a Financial Controller or Financial Management role is required.
- International finance experience is preferred.
- Previous experience leading a finance team is required.
- Strong understanding of tax codes, accounting, financial laws, and compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software/tools as well as all Microsoft-based applications.
- Previous auditing experience and compliance oriented.
- Possesses strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, and excellent leadership skills.
