We are looking for a Health Safety & Environment Student to join our New Brunswick team for the Summer Term (May - August 2024)

• Highly professional, detail-oriented individual with polished communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to personal development;
• Extremely organized with a strong ability to multi-task, while maintaining a high level of accuracy;
• A natural aptitude for technology and a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Outlook.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Review current SDS Register to Determine what SDS are in current circulation, what are required as per operation scope, what are outdated, and what potentially need to be added. Once the gap analysis is complete ensure SDS are in appropriate locations.
• Assist with the digitization with the current JHA form, this will include a review on the Hazard and risk register to determine which hazards and mitigation need to be added to the form to ensure standardization of the completion of the form.
• Support social media content creation. Coordinating, writing, and editing communications materials for social media and other items as required. Contribute to content production by creating social media content concepts.
• Assist with day records review and uploading of records to SharePoint and ensuring safe work packages are complete and uploaded. Standard training requirements such as Code of Conduct, Safety Orientation, WHMIS etc. is required. 

Work term outcomes:

The goals and objectives for this position is to showcase Emera New Brunswick’s best work practices, identifying how ENB has developed a Safety management system and has incorporated that in their approach to achieve a vision of world class safety. This role will be able to assist with administrative and field activities over this compressed time period. The successful candidate will gain a better understanding of safety management systems, legislative and regulatory requirements, social media communications, and the hazard identification and mitigation process.
