Job Description - Customer Accounting Administrator

Description Robert Half is seeking an experienced, organized Accounts Receivable (A/R) professional to further the efforts of a successful company. To succeed in this role, you will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This is a short-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Cambridge, Ontario area. Your responsibilities
  • Corroborate documents and codes
  • Identify delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. skip-tracing, written correspondence, phone contact, and making arrangements for payment
  • Help resolve payment issues by contacting clients, assist in setting up payment plans
  • Process payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
  • Execute a range of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks
  • Be an ambassador of the mission, values, and culture of the organization
  • Settle bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a variety of ledgers
  • Provide information, as requested to the sales/marketing department, shippers, customers, and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • Cash applications experience preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation
  • Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Deep understanding of billing
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Great Plains Accounting
  • Cash Collections experience
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired
  • Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills
  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized
  • Skilled with ERP systems
  • Strong analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
