Job Description - Facilities Supervisor

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. An exciting opportunity exists within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be part of the Facilities Management Team and play a key role in ensuring the provision of key support services at this unique and challenging time. Working as part of the Logistics Team, the post holder has supervisory responsibility for a team of Logistics Assistants and is responsible for all aspects of Logistics Services including waste, linen, mail room, receipt of deliveries and transportation of goods to the required services/departments, ensuring the seamless delivery of all services, contributing to the overall provision of quality patient care. Supervising the delivery of a range of Logistics services, i.e. waste, linen, receipt and delivery of goods, mail room services. The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for the allocation of logistics tasks to Logistics Operatives ensure that all tasks are completed in full compliance with all statutory & mandatory compliance and local SOP’s to enable the delivery of consistently high quality services provision. This role will work closely with other Facilities’ services, both locally and corporately to support service delivery. You must have extensive knowledge and practical operational experience on a wide range of non clinical administrative and support service functions, along with experience in staff management, conflict management,  performance management, staff appraisals and problem solving. You must have knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures and good practice relating to the management of services, along with the ability to work autonomously and be self motivated and have effective and efficient leadership skills.  You must have the ability to respond to unpredictable/emergency situations. You will receive any essential training required to carry out this role during your induction.
