About this opportunity

The Finance System Administrator is a core support function of NetSuite, Emburse, and Great Plains (GP). In this role you will be responsible for the timely processing of period-end closing schedule steps and master data maintenance in NetSuite, Chrome River Emburse, and Great Plains. In addition, you will participate in project work and system change testing as required. You will interact with employees throughout the organization on a daily basis, including finance, business technology services.

Take an inside look at what you'll do each day

  • Maintain master data in NetSuite and Chrome River Emburse, ensuring adherence to internal controls related to master data requests
  • Maintain and review user access to NetSuite and Chrome River Emburse, ensuring alignment with internal controls
  • Monitor, manage, and maintain the Company's applications, to ensure optimal performance and availability, including writing, debugging, and modifying scripts to customize NetSuite and Emburse workflows and processes
  • Support accounting month-end to ensure accurate and complete data imported from payroll, POS and time tracking systems
  • Perform routine system maintenance tasks, such as updates, patches and backups
  • Provide timely and effective support to end-users by addressing their system inquiries, resolving issues and creating management reports
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of new hardware and software deployments, ensuring compatibility and stability
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on best practices, system usage, and basic troubleshooting to enhance their IT literacy and self-sufficiency
  • Preparing documentation on financial application processes and procedures
  • Support on-going continuous improvement initiatives and projects as required

What you will need to be successful

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with SuiteScript (JavaScript-based scripting language for NetSuite) is highly desirable, including the ability to write, debug, and modify scripts to customize NetSuite workflows and processes
  • Basic to intermediate SQL skills for querying and extracting data from the finance systems, generating custom reports, and troubleshooting data issues.
  • Accounting certificate or diploma is an asset
  • NetSuite certification would be considered an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills and Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent team work skills, able to work with stakeholders across the business (e.g. various subteams in finance and with IT team)
  • Proficiency in the use of NetSuite. Knowledge of Great Plains is an asset
  • Strong propensity for technology and ability to learn systems quickly
  • Ability to work independently to fulfil requirements within deadlines
