Compensation is base salary. We also offer paid vacation time, sick/personal days and fully paid benefits after 3 months’ probation (Life, Accidental Death & Disability, Short and Long-Term Disability, Extended Health, Dental, Employee Assistance Program and RRSP Program with company matching your contributions, up to 3% of your salary).

Job Summary

The successful candidate will assume a senior developer role in the development of a cutting-edge distributed scalable cloud application for Safe Fleet, targeting passenger transportation, law enforcement, and waste/recycling markets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications throughout the entire software development lifecycle. They should contribute to innovative solutions and demonstrate a commitment to Agile methodologies, being a Scrum practitioner and advocate.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable, responsive web applications using Java technologies.
• Design and implement user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks such as Angular.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Write well-designed, efficient, and testable code.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in Software as a Service to drive continuous improvement.
• Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, advocating for Agile principles and best practices to enhance team efficiency and project delivery.

Salary : $90,000/YR - $115,000/YR + Benefits

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
• Proficiency in the Java programming language and related frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries such as Angular.
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, MariaDB).
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with stream-processing platform and distributed event store (e.g. Kafka)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand and optimize the complete system design architecture.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience in Agile methodologies, with a focus on Scrum, as well as a commitment to fostering a collaborative and iterative development process.
