Job Description



AECOM Mississauga or Markham is currently seeking an Operation & Maintenance Specialist – Transit & Rail with specialized skills in Railway Systems, to join our Transit & Rail Systems Team and work with a multidisciplinary team delivering an existing and future portfolio of projects.

 

Job Summary:

  • Support the development of strategic plans; build relationships with public and private clients (contractors) and the industry leaders.

  • Help grow the Operation & Maintenance and Service Readiness service in the Transit & Rail Systems practice by the development of pursuit strategies, technical concepts, and proposal technical approaches

  • Design and evaluate the technical governance of projects.

  • Work within a team structure and deliver an effective technical strategy to manage fit for purpose engineering design and safe project delivery in line with defined employer requirements.

  • Preparation, approval, issue, and management of technical specifications.

  • Establish and maintain Design Authority arrangements.

  • Undertake project governance roles as required.

  • Provide technical oversight on technical matters during execution of projects

  • Extensive understanding and experience in reliability centered maintenance and assurance

  • Extensive understanding and experience in the upkeep of fleet reliability and best practices as well as fleet maintenance strategies

  • Develop and review rail systems maintenance procedures

  • Develop, review, support in the selection of, and implementation of asset management and maintenance strategies of rail systems, including revenue vehicles

  • Extensive understanding and experience in the analysis of fleet performance data

  • Ability to optimize warranty and procurement materials management processes

  • Familiar with the development of transitioning strategies

  • Develop and review fleet testing, preventative and corrective maintenance plans and procedures.

  • Extensive understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle, including V&V, Systems Architecture, Requirements Management, Configuration Management, and Interface Management.

  • Understanding and experience in FRACAS & RAMS engineering

  • Review and/or develop System Safety Assurance analyses and Safety assurance management plan, as per CENELEC standards mainly EN50126, EN50128, EN50129, EN50159

  • Decomposition and allocation of RAMS requirement downstream of the V-cycle phases

  • Produce RAMS Validation and Verification plans and reports

  • Set up RAM demonstration plan and FRACAS procedures in cooperation with project management and field team

  • Review and develop systems HW/SW analyses such as PHA, SHA, SSHA, IHA, O&SHA using safety analysis techniques including FMECAs, FTA, ETA, RBD, CCF, etc.

  • Determined effective maintenance strategies for equipment reliability using FMECA analysis

 

 

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical or electrical) + 6+ years of relevant experience in Rail Systems, operations and maintenance, and reliability-centered maintenance.

  • ISO 9001: 2015 Certified Lead Auditor 2023

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB)

  • Risk Management Specialized Credential

  • PMP

  • Maintenance Management Professional

  • Driving License

 

Preferred

Qualifications

:

  • P Eng

  • RCM-R Certification

  • Enterprise Asset Information Systems (Maximo)

  • Ideally 10+ years of experience working on Metro or Tram Systems.

  • Used to implement and work under the principles of following standards: IEEE 1220, IEEE 24748, ISO 15288 + 24748 + 29148: Systems Engineering Life Cycle processes & Interface management; ISO 50163:

  • Experience in system assurance

  • Design experience and inner knowledge of transit/rail projects will be preferred
