Posted on March 26, 2024

Job Description

The Operations Manager at Great Bear Lodge is responsible for maintaining the facilities, vehicles, and boats (outboard motors) for optimum performance and efficiency, and for co-leading the guide and lodge team throughout the season to exceptional guest experiences. The health and safety of our guests depends on our Operations Manager being proactive and meticulous in their role.

Under the supervision of the General Manager, and in collaboration with the Lodge Manager, the Operations Manager participates in pre-season and ongoing training and team building to foster cohesion, a strong sense of personal work ethics, clarity of role and expectations, and opportunities for self-direction and autonomy. This job is physically demanding, so we need someone who can be on their feet most of their shift, moving and working around small spaces, stairways, people, and floating buildings, often within tight timelines.

 Leading and supporting guide team with interpretation, trip planning, safety, gear maintenance, and guest experiences

 Developing, implementing, and evaluating policies and procedures
 Preparing budgets and monitoring revenues and expenses
 Resolving guest complaints.
 This role is onsite for a full season (May through October), 18 days on, 6 days off.

Great Bear Lodge needs and supports our team members to show up every day with energy and enthusiasm for their work, their team, and the guests at Great Bear Lodge. All team members help one another throughout our days and our shifts as workloads, guest needs, and projects ebb and flow, so there will be times when you are asked to assist with other tasks onsite.
