Job Description - Payroll Administrator

Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary, full-time Payroll Administrator for our client located in Smith Falls, ON.

The position involves managing payroll tasks like processing payroll, maintaining records, and handling benefit programs including health, dental, and pension plans. Additionally, it includes supporting benefits coordination and payroll system administration.

The ideal candidate should possess post-secondary education, such as a diploma or degree in a related field, or have relevant experience. Additionally, they should hold a payroll certification or designation and have 5-7 years of experience in payroll/benefits administration. Moreover, they should be capable of obtaining Secret Level II Security Clearance.

  • Salary: $55,000/year

  • Location: Smith Falls, ON

  • Shifts: Monday – Friday

  • Job type: Full-time | Temp to perm

Responsibilities :

Payroll responsibilities:

  • Salary and hourly bi-weekly payroll processing

  • Maintaining payroll system and employment records

  • Monitoring timeclock system and data

  • Printing payroll reports

  • Processing garnishments and wage attachments

  • Inputting journal entries for accounting

Benefit responsibilities:

  • Administering and coordinating employee benefits programs

  • Health, extended health, dental, life insurance

  • Short-term disability (STD) and long-term disability (LTD)

  • Pension

Other responsibilities:

  • Coordinating, supporting, and administering the payroll system (Dayforce)

  • Acting as backup for employee group benefit plan administration

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • Post secondary education, related Diploma / Degree or related experience.

  • Payroll certification / designation.

  • 5-7 years related experience in Payroll / Benefits Administration.

  • Knowledge and experience with the following software - Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Filehold, Dayforce (Ceridian) and Microsoft D365.

  • Able to secure Secret Level II Security Clearance.

  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.

  • Superior Excel and reporting skills.
