The Department of Health has an opening for a Program Analyst within the Medicare and Physician Services Branch in Fredericton, reporting to the Manager of Fee for Service.

As the Program Analyst, you will:

  • Support the Fee-for-Service Negotiations/Distributions;
  • Provide operational support for the Insured Services Appeals Committee;
  • Participate in Fee-for-Service Specialty Fee reviews;
  • Analyze trends and conduct policy and physician remuneration research;
  • Develop recommendations to improve and enhance services and programs;
  • Support strategic and operational decision-making and program/service planning;
  • Lead, participates in, or supports special projects and initiatives related to physician compensation policies, programs, and processes;
  • Participate in Federal/Provincial/Territorial committees and working groups.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline, public administration, business administration, or a related field and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience. OR
  • A two (2) year college diploma in business administration, a health-related discipline, or a related field and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability on your application .

In the event that this competition poses difficulties in recruiting a qualified candidate, a covering off appointment at a lower level may be made. In that case, candidates with less than the required related years of experience may also be considered.

Asset Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates that possess one or more of the following asset qualifications:

  • Experience in conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to handle challenging communications

Candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications, in addition to the essential qualifications, in order to be given further consideration.

Behavioural Competencies: The successful candidate will possess the following behavioural competencies:

  • Analytical Thinking/Judgment
  • Effective Interactive Communication
  • Information Seeking

Technical Competencies: The successful candidate will possess the following technical competencies:

  • Planning and Organizational Skills
  • Written Communication

Salary: $ 2,140 to $2,993 bi-weekly (Pay Band 4)
