Project Coordinator - ADM023715 Employment Type : SGEU Term 9 months or more Location(s) : SK-Rgna-Regina Ministry : 013 Saskbuilds and Procurement Salary Range : $26.038 -$32.630 Hourly Grade : SGEU.07

The Opportunity

The Health Infrastructure Branch of the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement is looking for an individual who has a passion for improving the planning and development of provincial health infrastructure. If this is you, an exciting opportunity as a Project Coordinator exists to play a significant role in guiding health infrastructure delivery with a particular focus on coordinating and organizing information, data and correspondence related to infrastructure projects. Additionally, there will be the development of standard processes, templates and documentation which will form the critical foundations for successful project delivery, management, and oversight.

As a Project Coordinator, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholder groups throughout all project phases.
  • Active participation in planning meetings, setting agendas, and recording and disseminating meeting minutes.
  • Reviewing and assessing planning reports for strategic insights.
  • Coordinating consultants and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintaining electronic and hard copies of documentation, and tracking correspondence to meet deadlines.
  • Managing project-specific invoicing to ensure relevant invoicing procedures and practices are upheld to ensure timely processing of various consulting and contract-related invoice payables

Ideal Candidate

You will work with Health stakeholders to build technical expertise, streamline project team and project governance processes, and help shape the development of health facilities in the Province. Strong analytical, problem solving, facilitation, collaboration and communication skills, together with the demonstrated ability to participate in projects that involve multiple stakeholders with varying interests, is required to be successful in this position.

You will have knowledge of:

  • Basic accounting/financial principles, procedures/practices.
  • Budget preparation, expenditure and fiscal forecasting processes and procedures.
  • Computer applications such as word processing, security, communication, spreadsheet software, database and operating systems and/or computer hardware.
  • Relevant ministry and industry programs, processes and specialized terminology.

You will have the ability to:

  • Communicate complex ideas clearly and credibly with widely varied audiences using two-way communication to gain others’ input and understanding;
  • Problem-solve at a conceptual and strategic level;
  • Work independently and collaborate as a team member with architects, engineers, regulatory authorities, ministry and other team members;
  • Manage contracts and be able to strategically navigate projects through various government approval stage-gates.
  • Plan and organize multiple, complex tasks and projects taking into consideration conflicting and changing priorities to meet strict and/or changing deadlines.
  • Influence, persuade or convince others to work towards a mutually acceptable solution.
  • Provide written materials that may include briefing notes, decision items, presentations, minutes, and other similar types of documents.

You will be:

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to predict upcoming issues and fully understand the entire issue with underlying complexities.
  • Analytical with the ability to identify issues and recommend well-prepared solutions.
  • Creative in terms of developing alternate solutions to issues arising.
  • Professional, discreet and tactful while working with a variety of stakeholders.

Typically, candidates for this role possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Architecture, or related engineering disciplines. Alternatively, a Technical Diploma or certificate in the fields mentioned above, coupled with relevant experience, will be duly considered. An added advantage would include familiarity with project planning and delivery, scheduling, costing of infrastructure projects, basic knowledge of construction-related documents, procurement-related documents, and project management principles. Knowledge of government accounting processes, such as MIDAS and MarkView would be considered an asset.
