Job Description - PURCHASER


Position: PURCHASER

Monster Industries

Location: Houston BC

Salary: $35/hr - $55/hr.,

Summary: As a purchaser, you will be part of Monster Industries, a full service mechanical contractor that offers a wide range of industrial equipment and services to clients throughout western Canada. With four locations in Houston, Terrace, Williams Lake, and Vancouver, Monster Industries is a growing and dynamic company that values safety, quality, and innovation. You will be responsible for sourcing and ordering various materials and supplies that are needed for the company's projects and operations. You will work closely with the production, maintenance, and sales teams to ensure that the purchasing process is efficient and cost-effective. You will also negotiate with suppliers, track shipments, and handle invoices and payments. Additionally, you will have knowledge of parts inventory management, as you will occasionally assist with monitoring and updating the parts inventory system.

Job Duties

  • Research and identify potential suppliers of materials and supplies for Monster Industries.
  • Request and compare quotes, negotiate prices and terms, and place orders with suppliers.
  • Track and verify the delivery of orders, inspect the quality and quantity of materials and supplies, and report any issues or discrepancies.
  • Process and maintain invoices, receipts, and payments for materials and supplies.
  • Coordinate with the production, maintenance, and sales teams to forecast demand and plan purchasing budgets.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with monitoring and updating the parts inventory system, ensuring accuracy and availability of stock.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of materials and supplies for industrial equipment and services.
  • Knowledge of parts inventory management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
