The JET Legislative Services team provides legislative services to both Jobs, Economy and Trade (JET) and Immigration and Innovation (IM). The Manager, Legislative Services in JET is responsible for providing legislative planning, development and project management services to the Minister and Ministry of JET and IM. The Manager, Legislative Services provides legislative services to labour, workplace, jobs, immigration, multiculturalism, economy and trade files. The Manager ensures the delivery of high-quality legislative services within government policies and procedures, decision making and legislative processes, and provincial legislative drafting standards and practices, in line with the department's strategic priorities and goals. Legislative development activities may include oversight, design, development, advice, research, analysis, identifying issues and solutions, developing legislative documents, and the overall management of legislative development projects and processes. The role has a strong focus on legislative and legal instrument development, project management, process development, supporting the development of the department's policy and legislative analysis, and leading staff in a fast paced and complex environment. Responsibilities Include:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Policy, Public Administration, Social Science, Law or in a field related to the position assignment, supplemented by four (4) years related experience. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis. The position requires the following experience and technical competencies:

This is a full-time permanent position working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Work location - Commerce Place Building, Edmonton. Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening. Any costs associated with obtaining the required documents/checks as noted or interview travel expenses, will be the responsibility of the candidate. Out-of-province applicants can obtain the required documents/checks from the province they currently reside in.
