Job Details

Position Title: Senior Applications Engineer – Digital Experience Platform Administrator 

Status: I/O - 18 Months (Dec 2025)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Faculty/Department : Enterprise Web Strategy, Enrolment and Admissions Rethinking, and Digital Identity.  

Campus/Location: North Campus; Hybrid

Payband/Hourly Rate: Payband L / $48.19 - $55.84

What you will do:


With a view of the “big picture,” Senior Applications Engineer – Digital Experience Platform Administrator oversees the effective management, maintenance, organization, and utilization of the solutions across the Humber community. 

The Senior Applications Engineer – Digital Experience Platform Administrator leads technical system maintenance, content management, system training and user support. 

Areas of focus include: (1) day-to-day operations of the solutions; (2) End user support and training; (3) defining and managing releases, upgrades, and security; (4) document, implement and ensure compliance with all IT policies; (5) ensure service delivery for internal and external parties within defined SLAs. 

In summary, this administrative role increases user adoption and operational efficiency through effective systems management and empowerment of users across the Humber community. 

Key responsibilities:  

Operations

  • Implement, supervise, and carry out daily operational activities for incident troubleshooting. 
  • Engage with internal and external resources (3rd parties, vendors) for resolution of escalations within defined SLA. 
  • Engage with vendors to prepare for maintenance windows and socialize impacts and plans with the platform users.
  • Implement settings for personalization, user authentication and content management. 
  • Manage and track incidents on Microsoft Azure DevOps.

D igital Experience Platform and Content Management System 

  • Track engagement of user behavior, usage, and performance of the digital experience platform.
  • Update content structure and  provide recommendations within the Content Management System (CMS). 
  • Maintain version control of content and personalization, workflow management and integration into other systems.

D igital Asset Management 

  • Oversee the process of  digital asset ingestion and organization.
  • Define and manage metadata.
  • Define and  optimize workflows for asset creation, ingestion, and publishing. 
  • Monitor system usage, performance, active assets, and system health. 
  • Adherence to copyright laws and asset usage rights.
End User Management
  • Fielding and resolution of platform user's support requests. 
  • Tracking of user support issues using standard ITS tools and processes. 
  • User access management.

User Adoption

  • Defining and implementing user adoption measurement criteria. 
  • Introduce proactive ways to educate users and motivate self-sufficiency within the platform. 
  • Create engaging training materials including documentation, walk-throughs, and videos for engagement with end users. 
  • Reviewing industry trends and making recommendations  regarding feature improvement of the platforms. 

Qualifications

Qualifications - External

What you bring to the role:

Education

  • Three (3) year Degree, or equivalent, in a computer-related area and continued education in current Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Management Science, Business or related field. 

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in similar positions.
  • K nowledge of Drupal content management systems and platforms.
  • Any previous experience with the following is an asset and should be highlighted in your application: 
    • D igital transformation initiatives, programs, and complex implementation projects. (i.e., Content Management System, Digital Asset Management, Customer Data Platform, Marketing Automation, Artificial Intelligence)

Skills

  • Hands-on experience in front-end templating
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS
  • ITIL knowledge
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Able to assess complex issues and  determine optimal solutions across technology domains
  • P roven ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy, strong leadership, and attention to detail.
  • P roven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly learn new concepts/processes.
  • Able to analyze data , generate meaningful insights, and provide analytics on usage and platform performance, that would drive actionable insights from the business and product owner.
  • A ble to navigate the organization and influence through indirect leadership and relationships.
