Job Description - Sr. Director Business Operations & Strategy

Sr. Director Business Operations & Strategy Location Mississauga :

Some of what you will do:

As the Sr. Director, Business Operations & Strategy, you will be responsible for leading the Sales Operations team for Staples Professional. This role is an integral part of the Leadership Team at Staples Professional and leads key operational functions of the business including Revenue Forecasting, Reporting and Analytics, Pipeline Management, CRM adoption and improvement, Continuous Improvement projects, Sales Enablement & Execution. In addition this position will interface with the cross functional teams within Staples that support the B2B business including Digital, Supply Chain, Customer Care, IT, and Marketing. Working closely with the leadership across functions, this position ensures that the supporting strategies, effective processes and structures are in place to drive profitable growth.

Specifically, You Will:

  • Responsible to build and implement the processes to drive better visibility and predictability in revenue forecasting.
  • Lead and facilitate the sales cadence of the business including weekly revenue and operational meetings, quarterly reviews, and key account reviews.
  • Responsible for ensuring the development of effective sales support strategies and tactics on a national scale.
  • Manage all aspects of CRM tools (currently Salesforce.com and data analytic developed sales plays) to ensure these tools provide for optimum sales performance and support accompanying business processes among other key departments, including training for the sales organization.
  • Lead the business intelligence team to provide real time analytics to all departments to enable business monitoring, timely decision making and key analytics.
  • Identify and recommend system enhancement opportunities within ALPHA, Salesforce.com, customer care and Ecommerce system functionality to improve customer experience.
  • Interface with cross functional teams to implement efficiency initiatives within the professional business. (i.e. New Enhancements in the customer digital buying experience requires close alignment with the Staples Digital team and IT)
  • Lead the development and implementation of the annual sales execution Calendar. Collaborate with sales leaders to determine the sequence of sales events, campaigns and promotions that need to be executed on an annual basis.

Some of what you need:

  • 8+ years in a leadership role, preferably at an executive level and in a sales operations/customer service capacity
  • University bachelor's degree, MBA preferred
  • Bilingualism in English and French an asset
  • Excellent Project management skills and experience
