Canada First Academy for Soccer Excellence Canada First Academy (CFA) is a Toronto-based soccer academy for recreational and elite player
training.

CFA runs two programs, the academy Team Program and FUNdamentals. The Team Program is affiliated with the Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) and plays regular games within Ontario’s regional and district leagues. It runs throughout the year.

FUNdamentals is a program for kids ages U5-U12 who want to learn how to play the game in a fun learning environment. It works to help players develop basic skills and ignite a passion for the game. Excelling Fundamentals players move into the competitive team’s program.

Position Title: Head Coach, Competitive Program
Reports To: Technical Director
Level: Technical Staff (hourly)

Position Summary:
An integral part of CFA's Player Pathway is the Club’s Competitive Program. The program operates year-round and provides players with access to standards-based regional leagues (Central Ontario) as well as local opportunities at the District level (Toronto). CFA's competitive teams play in regional and district competitions and train 3 to 4 times per week throughout the year.

The primary responsibility of the Head Coach will be to lead the ongoing implementation of CFA's curriculum in accordance with Canada Soccer’s Long Term Player Development model. This position will oversee all aspects of team operations including training, games, player tracking, and off field management.

The weekly workload does vary throughout the year, but on average Head Coaches work 5 hours on field and 2 hours on administration per team. Evening and weekend work is expected. There is an opportunity to coach more than one team at a time.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
● Provide Technical coaching to CFA's competitive program in line with CFA's soccer philosophy and coaching guidelines.
● Create yearly and monthly plan and execute all team training sessions
● Coordinate and cooperate work with assistant coach and other club coaches
● Lead teams in all competitions
● Ensure regular communication with the Technical Director and team parents
● Ensure high intensity, training participation and quality
● Ensure accurate records are maintained to track the development of players
● Liaise with Club’s Goal Keeping Staff regarding the development of team Goalkeepers

Experience:
· Experience working in youth soccer and player development.
· Experience creating technical resources.
· Playing experience on higher level

Certifications:
· U8 Fundamentals
· U9 to U12 Learn to Train certification or equivalent.
· U13+ Soccer for Life
· Make Ethical Decisions, Respect in Soccer, Concussion module.

Skills & Competence
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Long Term Player Development mindset
· Comfortable with IT office applications
· Interested in continuous improvement.
· Planned and strategic approach
· Strong technical and tactical coaching skills

Only candidates eligible to work in Canada will be considered for this position.

Job Type: Part-time

Schedule:
· Monday to Friday
· Weekends

Experience:
· coaching: 2 years (preferred)
· Playing: 8 years (preferred)
