Class Roll off Driver

GFL Environmental is looking for a* Class 1 Roll-Off Driver* to join our team in Chemainus, British Columbia! As a Class 1 driver, you will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services to customers. You have experience with Tandem axle and roll off trucks. *Key Responsibilities:*

• Responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services for commercial, industrial & residential customers.
• Operate tandem axle roll-off truck to collect waste.
• Works route are away from the branch location on a continuous basis throughout the day.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and dispatchers.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers throughout the day.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision.
• Ability to driver a vehicle that carries up to 80,000 lbs or 40 tons.
• Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively using proper lifting techniques.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentation requested by supervisor daily.
• Follow all safety standards, equipment checks and precautions in performance of all duties. Comply with all federal, state/provincial, local and company rules on safety and vehicle operation.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.

*Requirements:*

• Possess valid Commercial Class 1 Driver’s License with Air Brake endorsements and clear driver's abstract
• Comfortable with early starts
• Knowledge of Tandem truck, tarp loads, Long Haul experience
• Customer service experience an asset
• Waste, construction Industry experiences an asset
