What you’ll do:
As the Stanley Park Operations Houseperson  , you are primarily responsible for ensuring our locations are upheld to a level that amazes our guest, while always keeping safety top of mind. This includes jobs of maintenance to both the physical appearance and functionality of our buildings. We are seeking individuals that are dedicated, professional and have high standards surrounding Guest satisfaction and working with a team. Attention to detail is also an asset for this position.
Other Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Executing established daily and weekly cleaning procedures such as: collecting garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning/ polishing the antiques throughout, wiping down dust and debris, cleaning windows as required, managing maintenance inventory.
  • Maintain equipment and furnishings, such as tables, chairs, outdoor heaters, changing lightbulbs, pressure washer and more.
  • Assist with outdoor and exterior grounds keeping, litter removal, snow removal, de-icing, garden, and plant upkeep, etc.
  • Assist events and food service team with setup, teardown (opening and closing) and other preparations for the day or night.
  • Assisting in construction, or upgrade projects to the best of your skill
  • Travel between properties. (company van available). Class 5 driving licence required.
  • Be knowledgeable about WorkSafe BC safety concerns, assist the JOHS Committee to ensure all established policies and procedures relating to work safe conditions are being met and/or exceeded.
  Who you are:
  • Has strong people skills with a motivated personality
  • Completion of high school, some college or technical training
  • Level 2 or 3 Occupational First Aid and WHIMIS an asset
  • Previous experience using general hand and power tools
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, heating systems or gardening
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of team members, senior management and external vendors
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
  • Positive attitude and a strong desire to provide experiences Guests are amazed by.
Considerations:
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts and must be available on weekends.
  • While performing the duties of this position, team members are required to be on their feet for extended periods of time
  • Willing and able to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, rain and winter conditions
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Occasionally required to lift and climb a ladder and work with heights.
The  Capilano Group  comprises of retail, hospitality and tourism-based businesses anchored by Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in North Vancouver. The Capilano Group’s portfolio includes Moraine Lake Lodge, Moraine Lake Trading and Cathedral Mountain Lodge in the Canadian Rockies, Stanley Park Pavilion, Stanley’s Park Bar & Grill and Prospect Point Cafe and Gift Shop in Stanley Park, Vancouver and Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, Capilano Trading Post in North Vancouver. The compensation for this position is $21 per hour.
