Our office in Toronto is seeking a Landscape Architect-Rail & Transit to join our Toronto team.

This is a position to work on projects in the rail (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars) industry in the Toronto office at 130 Adelaide Street west.

Responsibilities:

• Assess designated sites and develop designs taking into consideration landscape features, buildings, climate, future usage and other aspects
• Conduct community physical planning studies, participate in multidisciplinary urban design studies, prepare design guidelines, and develop master plans
• Prepare of detailed drawings for sites, including landscape features such as trees, shrubs, gardens, lighting, walkways, patios, decks, benches, fences, retaining walls and fountains
• Prepare of site plans, reports, sketches, models, land use studies, design plans such as landscape grading, drainage or planting, and construction details
• Review and prepare specifications for landscape related sections
• Manage and supervise landscape construction work

Qualifications:

• 10 years of overall experience is needed with experience in infrastructure or Rail projects preferred
• Member (or eligible for full membership) of OALA
• Bachelor’s degree and landscape architecture recognized by OALA
• Legislation, codes and standards for landscaping, site planning and urban design
• Knowledge of Sustainability design requirements
• Knowledge of Toronto Green Standards (GTS)
• Experience with Accessibility standards
• Experience with CPTED standards
