The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Sr. Talent Management Analyst to join our Talent Management team in Toronto. This is a full-time position.

The position is responsible for guiding the design and delivery of learning & organizational development, processes, programs, and capabilities that facilitate the alignment of talent throughout the Vale Base Metals global business. The position plays a key role in providing input to the establishment and development of strategies of organizational and leadership development within the organization. The incumbent in the role is expected to support and work with HRBPs to drive the deployment and execution of all talent solutions, work with HR CoE partners on interdependencies and aligned solutions.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Responsible for specific program management including project planning, project execution, deployment, communication, change management, monitoring and reporting. Also accountable for continuous improvement and project recap.
  • Manage a talent program within the talent management function. Programs will include a subset of the following: Redesigning learning systems and supporting existing systems, Succession Planning, Leadership Development, Talent Review, Employee development solutions, and Culture.
  • Responsible for development of new program design or updates, with assistance. Ensure programs are aligned with the desired culture, leadership model, and reflect a culture of inclusion.
  • Lead the communications change management of new and changing talent solutions to ensure buy-in and adoption.
  • Lead project teams where appropriate, to support implementation, and ensure buy-in, readiness and enablement across all stakeholder groups.
  • Contributes to implementation and maintenance of programs to support the learning and development of high potential (HIPO) employee, senior leadership positions, and incumbents in critical roles to support enhanced engagement and development.
  • Supports all aspects of Organizational Development programming such as Talent Assessments, Manager & Leadership Development programs, coaching programs, Employee Engagement Survey, and specific management/leadership related courses.
  • Develops, reviews, modifies, delivers and evaluates program effectiveness, with input from internal and/ or external subject matter experts as required. Establish key metrics and analytics to facilitate strategic talent decisions and to measure ROI impact of the programs, tools and processes developed. (Process Improvement)
  • Establishes relationships and collaborates with other organizational development professionals externally to remain current on best practices.

About You

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Degree in business or related field preferred with specialization in Talent, Learning, Change Management or Human Resources

Experience:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience

Skills:

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in Human Resources, Learning, Organization Development function, including a minimum of 4 years in a Talent Management or Learning program function preferred.
  • Experience designing, developing and implementing talent programs in one or more program areas.
  • Communicate effectively, both oral and written, including strong facilitation skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, with experience influencing professionals of senior management level.
  • Create and communicate long-term vision, balances short- and long-term goals, keeps own and team's work aligned with overall goals.
  • Proven track record of leading through change and adversity, accepting ebbs and flows of large, diverse global organization.
  • Influencing and negotiation skills, leadership, mining or heavy industry knowledge.
