Senior/Intermediate Process Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our company provides a combination of engineering consulting and services to the oil and gas industry based out of Calgary, AB. 

We are currently seeking a Senior/Intermediate Process Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Experience in process engineering design

• Knowledgeable in the design of Oil production facilities, Sour and Sweet Production and Compression facilities, Pipeline facilities (include Transient Analysis), Fractionation Plants, Turbo-Expander Cryogenic Facility, Petrochemical Plants, Carbon Capture, Waste Heat recovery, Salt Cavern Storage and Loading Terminals.

• Strong troubleshooting skills

• Knowledgeable with ABSA registration for pressure pipes, including PSV protection and OPPSD

• Familiar with hydraulics calculations

• Familiar with Line Designation Tables

• Able to As-Built existing facility

• Experience working with plant operations

• Develop Process Design Basis (PDB), Process Flow Diagram, Heat & Mass balance, and P&ID based on Business Development objectives.

• Performing debottlenecking of the plants and propose solutions based on codes and standards.

• Ensures that facilities are designed, constructed and maintained in compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate specifications and operating practices.

• Consult with appropriate team members and stakeholders to establish practical and mutually agreed upon design criteria and facility performance.

• Knowledge in regulatory and code/standards requirements.

• Communicate to team members and contractors project design objectives.

• Ensure schedule changes are valid and necessary.

• Manage and report on design & performance variances.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant, P.Eng. designation in Alberta

• 5+ years of process engineering experience

• Experience in one or more of the following areas is an asset: Oil production facilities, Sour and Sweet Production and Compression facilities, Pipeline facilities (include Transient Analysis), Fractionation Plants, Turbo-Expander Cryogenic Facility, Petrochemical Plants, Carbon Capture, Waste Heat recovery, Salt Cavern Storage and Loading Terminals

• Experience with PFDs, H&MB, P&IDs, Management of Change, HAZOPs

• Familiarity with HYSYS or other process simulation software

• Team orientation with demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a challenging/matrix environment.

• Demonstrated leadership, decision-making and negotiating skills as well as excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Motivated, innovative and capable of handling several assignments

The job is performed in an office environment and site travel may be required, depending on project.
